The Brief
The project was originally approached as a straightforward office relocation moving 40 users from EPG’s old building to their new site in Tunbridge Wells.
The scope for the relocation changed on several occasions, going from just user’s IT relocation and user’s furniture, and finally to users, furniture, and server relocation! We even moved the communications racks!
Further to conversations with both the team at EPG and at Infinity, it was decided that Ace would work on the physical relocation as well as assist the support company with the re-commissioning of all rack equipment at the destination environment.
The Relocation
Three days for three services; IT office moves, server relocation and the disposal of redundant IT equipment.
Between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon Ace IT Relocation successfully relocated over 60 user’s PC’s, three racks worth of server equipment moved in our custom-built foam lined server flight cases protected with anti-static bubble wrap and then disposed of over 200 items of redundant IT equipment!
Before leaving the site, Ace re-patched the comms room and performed all live tests to confirm the system was up and running and that all data ports within the new environment had full connectivity.
