The Brief
When the time came to relocate 5 racks of critical infrastructure for Shell through a third party from Assen in Holland to Crawley, they contacted Ace IT Relocation because of our European presence and references from previous projects completed for Chopper Trading, ATPI and Equinix, Shell had no issues with awarding Ace with the contract.
The Relocation
One of our Project Managers had to liaise with 2 contacts one in Assen and one in the UK. It became clear due to the stringent Health and Safety requirements implemented by Shell all engineers would need to undertake a Health and Safety induction onsite. We organised all engineers to arrive in Assen the night before the project and stayed locally ready to start at 08.00 hours local time so all Health and Safety requirements can be settled before a 09.00 hours start time.
Detailed move schedules were agreed and rack diagrams were designed to plan where each server would be installed back into the racks.
Ace IT Relocation offers professional services onsite depending on the customer requirements, in this case, Ace IT Relocation were requested to de-rack 60 servers in Assen and re-rack all rack mountable infrastructure in Crawley. To ensure all equipment was transported successfully our engineers brought all required equipment and legal requirements to travel through Europe without hindrance.
Once back in the UK the equipment was re-racked in accordance with the rack diagrams provided. Our server engineers remained onsite to support Shell until the project was completed.

Knowing the competitive environment Shell Group operates in, it was clear business continuity was paramount. With our experience, professional engineers and thorough project management Shell experienced no unplanned interruption to business at any point of the project and all infrastructure delivered on the same day.
